DIRECTIONS:
From Payson, AZ, take State Rt. 260 east 17.6 miles to campground sign.  Turn right at sign and go 0.3 miles to campground.

 

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The elevation is 5,600 ft.
Campground is located adjacent to State Rt. 260 in a Lower Rim Transition forest of Ponderosa pine mixed with Junipers, Oaks and Manzanita.  It is composed of two loops - A and B.  Christopher Creek meanders through the campground, separating the two loops.  A program called Discovery Walk is available during the summer.  Firewood is available for a fee.

COMMENTS:
Loop A  has paved aprons; Loop B gravel.  There is a waste station at the Ponderosa campground (Forest Service), located 6.9 miles west on State Rt. 260.  There is potable water and the fee is $5.
