Event Details
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Town of Payson! To Celebrate, we are hosting a Town “Birthday Party”.
This event will include a ’70s-themed Costume Contest, Food Trucks and Vendor booths, Yard Games, a Historical Storytime, and much more.
We will have live music by the band RimRock and the event will conclude with a fireworks display in celebration of our beautiful town.

70's Themed Costume Contest
Dress up in a 70’s style costume to participate in our costume contest. More Details to come.
Food Trucks & Vendors
Starting at 4 pm, food trucks and vendors will be onsite and open for business.
Yard Games
While you enjoy the beautiful fall evening, you and your family and friends can play with our yard games.
Historical Stories
Family stories passed down from members of our community so that they shall be remembered for generations to come.



Youth Art Contest
Celebrate Payson’s 50th Anniversary with us through the eyes of our talented youth artists! We’re throwing a Youth Art Contest to celebrate Payson’s Journey – and we want YOU to be apart of it! Whether you’re a doodler, a painter, a photographer, or a sculptor, show us what Payson’s story means to you through your art! Get ready to let your imagination flow as we honor Payson’s remarkable 50-year legacy.

Creative (5 points): Is the art a unique take on Payson’s History? How much effort is shown in the art details? Does the artist show they know their techniques?
Other Considerations (5 points): Does the art make people feel connected to Payson’s History? Does the art respect Payson’s Culture and history? Does the art try new things? How well is the art presented overall?

NO CONSUMER FIREWORKS are ALLOWED
There are absolutely NO CONSUMER FIREWORKS allowed. This includes handheld sparklers and novelties. There will be no exceptions. Please help us keep our park beautiful and other spectators safe. We thank you for your understanding and adherence to our event rules.
No Alcohol or Smoking
There will be no alcohol or smoking allowed at Green Valley Park. This rule is strictly enforced by staff and Law Enforcement. Violators may be asked to leave the Park and/or face charges.
§ 93.12 Parks and Natural Areas Criminal Conduct
No Ground Stakes
We encourage you to bring shade if desired, however, weighing down canopies is mandatory. (If you do not have your canopy properly weighed down, you will be asked to take it down for safety reasons).
Staking is not allowed in the park. If you bring a canopy, please be prepared to weigh it down with sand or another weight.
§93.04 Usage Rules (G)
No Charcoal Grills
Charcoal Grills are not allowed on Town Property.

Furry Friends are allowed.
however we strongly discourage their attendance as fireworks cause severe anxiety in most animals. We ask that if they do attend, they remain leashed and secured during fireworks to prevent lost animals.
Dogs are allowed within the park as long as they are LEASHED and not causing a disturbance for other specatators.
Free Event
This event is free for the public, so bring your chairs and a blanket to enjoy an afternoon full of activities and music leading up to the main event, Our Spectacular Firework Show!

What should we bring?
To enjoy this event to it’s fullest, be sure to bring chairs and blankets as well as water and snacks.
PUBLIC NOTICES
- Dogs are welcome as long as they are mild-mannered. Town ordinances require that they must be leashed at all times.
- Public consumption of alcohol is prohibited in the park and at all listed events. § 93.12 Parks and Natural Areas Criminal Conduct (B(1)).
- Staking is not allowed in the park. If you bring a canopy, please be prepared to weigh it down with sand or another weight. Stakes cannot be used. § 93.04 Usage Rules (G)
